Brushes
The range of brushes available in the market place is huge. For the inexperieced it is all too easy to select a completely inappropriate set of brushes. The range of brushes we supply have been specially selected for use in the Clay Cafe, mobile pottery, and new home hobbyist arena. They have been chosen for durability, suitability and economy and are in use in dozens of paint your own pottery studios throughout the UK. The needs of both children and adults have been taken into consideration and even experienced artists are happy to use them.
No matter what quality of brush you acquire it is very important to look after them as carefully as you can. Wash them out after use with a gentle detergent and stand them on their handles, not on their brush heads. Clean the brushes in a specialist cleaning product from time to time to remove paint from the ferrules (brush joint) ...we stock DS3 Brush Cleaner. Try to keep a seperate set of brushes for adults, they will appreciate this. A good idea is to "spot" adult brush handles with a bright nail varnish so they can be readily identified. Encourage children not to stab the table with their brushes or chew the bristles!!
BASIC ALL PURPOSE BRUSHES
The Studio Pack - Order Code:BPB
Below is the basic brush pack we recommend for Clay Cafes. These brushes are manufactured in Germany and are of good quality, multi functional in use and represent excellent value.
The set consists of SEVEN brushes for use by children and adults. The triangular handled brushes are particularly easy to hold by younger children and elderly adults and do not roll off the table!
Start with one set per table seating four with a couple of replacement sets. From our experience you will need additional quantities of P40 size 4 and 2: a good guide is to add an extra one of each per table to start with. Replacement brushes are always available in stock.
